Privacy notice

Who is responsible

AMK Financial Services Ltd, trading as AMK. Trade Accountants, is the controller of personal information we use for enquiries and prospective-client contact. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 13592888. Our registered office is 20 Nursery End, Stanford In The Vale, Faringdon, England, SN7 8PH. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@amkaccountancy.co.uk or write to this address.

What we collect

We receive enquiry information directly from you and booking information through Google Calendar when you choose to use it. Please do not send tax returns, identity documents, bank details or sensitive personal information with an initial enquiry. We can agree an appropriate way to exchange documents if needed.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

You do not have to make an enquiry or provide information, but we may be unable to respond or arrange a call without suitable contact details. We do not use website enquiries for newsletters or advertising campaigns. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Who receives information

Information is available to people at AMK who need it to handle your enquiry. We use service providers for website hosting, email, IT and appointment booking. This website is hosted using Vercel; call bookings open Google Calendar. These providers receive the information needed to deliver their services. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where needed for legal advice, a legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. We do not sell personal information.

Google's booking service is a separate website. Before booking, you can read Google's privacy policy. Information handled by providers for their own purposes is governed by their notices.

Processing outside the UK

Technology providers may process information outside the UK. UK data-protection rules apply to transfers for which we are responsible: an applicable adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual safeguards, are required unless a permitted exception applies. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry and how to obtain details of applicable safeguards.

How long we keep information

For enquiries that do not become client work, retention depends on whether the enquiry is still active, whether follow-up has been requested, and whether records are needed to address a complaint, legal obligation or legal claim. We retain information only for as long as it is needed for those purposes, then delete it or anonymise it. Contact us to ask how these criteria apply to your enquiry.

This notice covers the website and initial enquiries. Accounting work can involve additional information, legal duties and retention requirements; the relevant client privacy information and engagement terms should be read when becoming a client.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access your information, correct it, have it erased, restrict its use or receive it in a portable format. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

We may need to verify your identity. We normally respond to a rights request within one month; permitted extensions can apply to complex or multiple requests. If processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Concerns and complaints

Please contact us if you are unhappy with how we handle your information. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. You do not have to complain to us first.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when the website or relevant processing changes. The date above identifies the latest version. See our cookie notice for information about browser storage.
